Standard Of Membership and Code of Ethics

IAPCG Membership is available for professional caregivers (Bedside nurses, CNA’S, home health aides, babysitters, nannies), auxiliary health workers, persons who and are actively performing long term caregiver duties for their loved ones and family members (amateur caregivers) and persons who are currently undergoing training to become professional caregivers.


All applicants must meet the minimum eligibility requirement outlined in the IAPCG standards of membership and agree to abide by the IAPCG code of ethics to apply for membership and maintain membership in good standing.


The purpose of the standards of membership and code of ethics is to establish and maintain the reputation of the IAPCG and public confidence in the integrity and professionalism of our association and its members. Reported violations are taken very seriously and can result in censure, suspension or expulsion.

REQUEST MEMBERSHIP FORMS

STANDARD OF MEMBERSHIP

To be eligible for IAPCG membership a caregiver must satisfy at least one of the following conditions:

  • Be eligible and or authorized to be a caregiver in your area.
  • Be a registered agency or business that provides short- and long-term caregiving services in your area.
  • Actively be in a caregiver position for pay or for love.
  • Currently embarking on some form of training to be a caregiver (Nurse, CNA, Home health Aide etc.)
  • Anyone who works as an auxiliary healthcare employee.
  • Conduct yourself and your business meticulously and in a manner that is a credit to the IAPCGand its members and partners.
  • Cooperate with IAPCG’s efforts to increase understanding and recognition of our profession worldwide.
  • Provide requested information to assist the IAPCG in compiling industry data and reports.
  • Agree to adhere to the IAPCG code of ethics and cooperate with IAPCG leadership to resolve reported violations.
  • Pay annual dues to maintain active membership.

IAPCG members must take care of their clients and loved ones in compliance with applicable local, state and national laws and operate their business and job responsibilities legally according to the laws of their local jurisdiction. IAPCG members must refrain from personally engaging in any illegal activity in general regardless of whether the activity occurs while representing their business or not.

IAPCG members must provide equal access to their established services for all clients regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ethnicity, creed, color, sex, age, disability or country of origin of any party.

IAPCG members must accurately represent the content and scope of their services honesty and fairly and refrain from making false claims to prospective clients. This includes but is not limited to claims regarding qualifications and/or credential and only using copyrighted materials such as text or images with permission and proper credit.

IAPCG members must honor all commitments made to clients. IAPCG members must operate their business in a manner that is a credit to the IAPCG and the care industry by adopting good business practices that protect the public against fraud and agree to take all reasonable steps tosafeguard privileged information in a confidential manner.

IAPCG members must perform all care services and responsibilities in a manner that is respectful of clients and their family members and other health professionals. IAPCG members must conduct themselves in a professional manner and foster a positive attitude of respect, support and encouragement and camaraderie between themselves and other healthcare professionals including and especially caregivers, regardless of IAPCG membership.

IAPCG members must refrain from making false or unauthorized statements as representatives of the IAPCG. Members must agree to use the IAPCG name and logo only as authorized and immediately cease use of the IAPCG name and logo upon termination of memberships. IAPCG members must refrain from using the IAPCG positions or platforms to espouse personal views that are out of alignment with the values, vision and mission of the IAPCG or its partners.
